How to mention your product in a Reddit comment
Mention your product on Reddit only when the person asked for a tool or the product directly solves their stated problem. Answer the question first, then add one sentence naming your product and disclosing that you built it. Keep links out unless the subreddit allows them, and never use sales phrases like “DM me” or discount codes.
When is it okay to mention your product?
When the thread asks for a recommendation or alternative, when your product solves the exact problem described, and when the subreddit’s rules allow it. When the thread is a discussion, a rant or a request for advice that does not need a tool, answer without mentioning it; that reply still builds the profile people check later.

How should you word the disclosure?
Plain and short works best. Any of these is enough:
- “(disclosure: I built it)”
- “full disclosure, I work on this”
- “I made a tool for this, so I’m biased, but…”
What should you never write?
Phrases that read as sales tactics get downvoted fast: “DM me”, “check my profile”, discount codes, “game-changer”, “best tool ever”, and anything that ignores what the person actually asked. Threadwarm keeps a never-say list for each product so drafts never include them.
